ENTACT performed in-situ stabilization of 45,000 cubic yards of hydrocarbon sludge at a former waste oil pits site within a cypress swamp.

Challenges included the relocation of a half-mile of an existing stream away from the former waste pits and excavating 10,000 cubic yards of impacted sediments from within the cypress swamp while preserving tree root structures.

ENTACT also installed a perimeter slurry wall, constructed a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) compliant capping system over the entire site, and installed an extensive under-drain network to collect stormwater.
