LNG EXPORT FACILITY SITE PREPARATION AND SOIL IMPROVEMENT
Industry: LNG
Location: Gulf Coast
LNG terminal construction support through large-scale soil stabilization
ENTACT performed large-scale soil stabilization services to support the construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the Gulf Coast. The work provided a stable foundation for major site development activities, ensuring the ground improvement necessary to support future infrastructure and facility operations.
Prior to full-scale implementation, ENTACT conducted soil sampling and developed soil-cement mix designs to achieve unconfined compressive strengths (UCS) for target values. Field pilot test sections were completed to confirm cement dosage requirements for meeting these design criteria. Site preparation activities included clearing and grubbing and installation of four construction entrances to facilitate site access.
Scope of Work:
- Constructed four field pilot test sections to verify design mix performance
- Stabilized 2,770,000 cubic yards of soil using excavator bucket mixing
- Stabilized 430,000 cubic yards of soil using vertical auger mixing
- Installed geotextile, geogrid, and crushed stone over stabilized areas to create a site laydown surface
ENTACT’s soil stabilization program successfully enhanced the strength and uniformity of subsurface materials across the site, enabling safe and efficient construction of this major Gulf Coast LNG export facility.
