ENTACT performed in-situ stabilization of 45,000 cubic yards of hydrocarbon sludge at this former waste oil pits site, situated within a cypress swamp.
Challenges included the relocation of a half-mile of an existing stream away from the former waste pits and excavation of 10,000 cubic yards of impacted sediments from within the cypress swamp, preserving tree root structures. ENTACT also installed a perimeter slurry wall; constructed an RCRA-compliant capping system over the entire site; and installed an extensive under-drain network to collect stormwater.
