PCB Site Residential Remediation and Restoration
Location: Southeast
The area surrounding an industrial facility contained polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Much of the area included residential and community spaces, making removal critical. ENTACT used its residential remediation expertise to develop a field approach that prioritized the safety of the community, communication with the impacted neighbors and an efficient schedule to complete this multiyear remediation and restoration project.
Site activities included remediation and restoration of over 650 PCB-impacted residential properties; transportation and placement of removal soils to either an on-site staging area or an off-site TSCA-approved disposal facility; phased construction of a 20-acre repository for on-site placement; remediation of a PCB-impacted city park; and expedited removal of PCB impacts on a school property.
