ENTACT performed soil improvement at this 1,000-acre site, in preparation for the development of an LNG export terminal. The project site is at an ideal location, situated on a ship channel at the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico. It features deep-water access, proximity to plentiful gas supplies and ease of transport for buyers.
The scope of work included soil improvement of approximately 400,000 cubic yards of soft saturated clay to depths ranging from 4.0 to 8.5 feet, within various areas of this site, to facilitate equipment site access. We performed soil improvement utilizing Type I-II Portland cement to achieve an unconfined compressive strength of 25 pounds per square inch in 28 days.
